II.1 Identify problem to be solved (e.g., needs, persona)

Task 1 of Identify Business Needs and Solutions

Enablers (verbatim, ECO)

PMI, ECO p. 5: enablers are "illustrative examples of the work associated with the task" and "not meant to be an exhaustive list but rather offer a few examples to help demonstrate what the task encompasses."

Ours: PMI's stems paraphrase one of these as a symptom; the right option is that enabler in PMI's words; the distractors are its siblings or a neighbouring task's enablers.

  1. Conduct stakeholder interviews to understand business pain points
  2. Analyze existing processes to identify automation opportunities
  3. Define target user personas and use cases for AI solutions
  4. Map business problems to appropriate AI patterns and approaches
  5. Validate problem statements with subject matter experts

The rule

A vague 'use AI' request means validate the problem and the audience with stakeholders first, before ROI, patterns or feasibility.
